It feels like the past 5 months have sped by and I haven’t had as much time to spend on Facebook as I did in the past…
Our kiddos started school and my life revolves around packing lunches, making quick dinners between home work, rugby, ballet, running a household, mountains of laundry, weekends booked in advance with sports and kids parties, and just being present to the 4 humans God entrusted in my care and their siblings who need a lot of emotional and practical support this year…in between trying to earn money to support our family too…life is just speeding by rather quickly this year.
Just the other day we were basking in Summers glory and now I’m fighting off snotty noses and nagging kids to wear socks and vests!!!
Don’t get me wrong this is my passion…being the best wife and mom I can be. I love to be the one helping our kids with homework and sitting next the sports field.. this is what I prayed for and this is what my life revolves around this year.
I was stretched wayyyyy to thin before. I put many many other peoples needs in front of my own households and I let myself and my needs drop off the list somewhere. It feels as though I have turned inwards this year…call it self preservation or perhaps just trying to remain present.
Although we don’t have nappies and milk and donations of all sorts coming our way anymore to share with the community at large – we still share whatever we can when we can with 12 other families in our direct community. And we still offer support and friendship to foster families and places of safety and families who share our hearts.
When preloved toys or clothing comes in we make sure it goes to families in need. The needs are always great. My inbox is flooded daily and we can only do so much
Thank you to those who share our love for children and for the people who support our vision to see children flourish in families. Your love and friendship means so much and we as always are here for anyone who wants to learn from our experience or just needs another family in their village.
