The reality is that when you put yourself out there and share your story or try to shed light on things like foster care, adoption and the broken system in South Africa and the never ending need out there, there will always be those who support you and share in the highs and lows and only wish you well… and then there are the haters.
Luckily we have not had many of those in the past 10 years. Most of the people in our lives love us, love our children and have supported us in friendship, physically helping us in various ways in support of the children in our care and their extended family. We are forever grateful to the village God has placed around us who want nothing but the best for us.
About a month ago a follower on this page launched a vicious attack on us. a follower who has benefited from 8 years of receiving whatever we have had to share. She wanted money and suddenly our “second hand charity” items and food was no longer needed. And listen if I had money to give I would because that’s just who I am. But I don’t even have a cent to my name. Money comes in and covers some of the bills and the rest waits for whenever it can be paid. I work too and I do ironing jobs when I can too but the reality is all of us are struggling financially. We don’t sit around and just ask. Sometimes we do make our needs known because many people want to bless but don’t know where to or how.
I am not going to badmouth or belittle this person – I have removed her off this page because no matter how much we tried to help it was never enough for her. I wish her well and I pray she finds work soon.
Again we appreciate the people who want to know our story. We SO appreciate the calls, the check ins, the blessings big and small. We honestly never take anything for granted and we want to thank you again for being followers of The Schultze’s lives.
